Sunnah method of marriage: When both the girl and the boy are ready to get married, the meeting of marriage should be conducted in any mosque after any ṣalāh because the mosque is the place where blessings and mercy of the Almighty Allah descend, angel-
Pious people and godly men get together. At the time of tying the knot, both the groom and the bride need prayer the most. All these can be attained only in a mosque. The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wasllam has said.
Publicize this marriage, and hold it in mosque
Messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wasllam married ʿĀ’ishah (rz) in the month of Shawwāl, and she departed from her parents’ to the Prophet of Allah’s home in Shawwāl and she wished for they women of her family to get married in Shawwāl.
The scholars, therefore, have said that the marriage in the month of Shawwāl is desirable.
All those who are present in the meeting of marriage should supplicate for both the groom and the bride and give them best wishes as Sayyidnā Abū Hurayrah (rz) said that when supplicating for the newlywed.
The Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasllam would say Bāraka Allāhu lakumā wa bāraka ʿalaykumā, wa jamaʿā baynakumā fī khayr.
Translation May Allah bless both of you and send blessings upon both of you, and bring goodness between both of you.Sunnah method of marriage.
Feast of marriage (Walīmah)
The feast, arranged after marriage, is called “walīmah”. The Almighty Allah blesses a man with a precious gift as his wife. Arranging “walīmah” in order to express happiness on this bounty is a Sunnah. The Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasllam arranged feast on each occasion of marriage as per his financial capacity.
The lowest feast the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wasllam arranged was dates and cheese and the first class feast he arranged consisted of mutton and breads. Arranging feast as per the capacity is desirable (mustaḥab). In the feast of walīmah, relatives, friends and neighbours are invited.
Sayyidnā ʿAbdur Raḥmān ibn ʿAwf (rz) was a well-to-do companion of the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasllam and therefore, the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wasllam said: Hold a wedding feast, even if only with a sheep.Sunnah method of marriage-
